01 –  The Challenge

Large-scale airport infrastructure operates continuously and depends on reliable electrical systems across critical operational areas.

Traditional energy monitoring can make it difficult to maintain real-time visibility of consumption, identify abnormal usage, monitor electrical parameters and respond quickly to power-related events.

For an environment such as an airport, energy management therefore needs to move beyond conventional meter reading towards a connected, intelligent and continuously monitored system.

02 —  The ELEXI Solution

NwareSoft implemented ELEXI at IGIA to enable intelligent energy monitoring and more efficient power management.

ELEXI combines its Smart Gateway, connected energy infrastructure and monitoring platform to create a connected energy management layer.

The ELEXI Gateway acts as the intelligence hub and supports real-time monitoring, remote ON/OFF control, protection features, communication connectivity and energy data management.

03 —  How ELEXI Works
  1. Energy Data Collection

The ELEXI Gateway connects with the electrical infrastructure and captures relevant energy information for monitoring.

The platform supports real-time electricity monitoring and reporting, allowing users to see energy usage without depending solely on manual readings.

  1. Connected Monitoring

Collected data is made available through the connected ELEXI ecosystem, providing visibility into electricity consumption and electrical performance.

Users can monitor parameters such as units, kWh, load and voltage, along with usage reports and alerts.

  1. Intelligent Alerts

ELEXI can detect conditions such as abnormal usage, overload and other power-related events and generate alerts.

The platform also supports theft/tamper detection and notifications, adding an additional layer of visibility and security.

  1. Remote Control

The system supports remote power management, including remote ON/OFF control, enabling authorized users to manage connected electrical infrastructure without requiring physical access to the meter/device.

  1. Analytics & Historical Visibility

Energy data can be analysed over time through consumption analytics and historical records, helping teams understand usage patterns and identify areas requiring attention.

04 —  Gateway Installation & Implementation

The ELEXI Gateway installation is designed around a protected electrical-panel setup.

For the documented installation procedure, the Gateway operates with a 3-phase, 415V AC supply, with R, Y, B and Neutral input/output terminals and a 4-pole MCB installed before the Gateway.

Vertical flowchart listing an 8-step electrical workflow: Site Inspection → Power Isolation → Gateway Mounting → Input Wiring → Output Wiring → 8-Point Wiring Inspection → Power Restoration → Final Verification & Documentation.

The installation SOP specifically requires the incoming supply to be isolated and zero voltage verified before wiring, followed by inspection of all eight input/output connections before energizing the device.

After wiring verification, the MCB is restored, Gateway status is checked and the output is verified before the panel is securely closed.
